In order to secure that crucial head start for our clients, our product developers work on a global scale in close collaboration with universities, research institutes and manufacturers of production equipment. We participate in international research projects and advisory committees for standardisation. This involvement enables us to be in the frontline for understanding and developing new and advanced technologies, so we can implement our knowledge to the benefit of our clients.
The M+W Zander Innovation and Application Centre
Based at the M+W Zander headquarters in Stuttgart we have an Innovation and Application Centre (IAC) where we test, develop and optimise products, processes and technologies of the future. Our teams of scientists, engineers and technicians work here in interdisciplinary collaboration on the development of new and better solutions.
In an area of 3000m2, the IAC team develops and tests the components and systems required for our cleanroom, ventilation and air-conditioning technologies. For more than 20 years, the IAC has been the pacemaker of M+W Zander’s technological developments.
Our centre contains hi-tech equipment and installations complying with the very latest technological standards that facilitate the implementation of all our in-house tests and qualification procedures. It is here that we test the procedures and designs that enable us to develop and perfect the system solutions and products for our clients.
The IAC commands an extensive range of testing facilities:
- Chemical laboratory
- Test clean rooms for microelectronics and pharmaceutical applications
- Echoic chamber
- Test setups for HVAC system component performance tests
- Filter test stand for the assessment of suspended filters
- Pilot facilities and test stands for exhaust removal
- Metrology test chambers for testing the quality of precision air conditioners
With our IAC we undertake qualification, verification and certification work, in particular for the electronic, pharmaceutical/biotechnical, and food production industries.
